FEELING WELL IN CLEAN INDOOR AIR

The smaller the particles that make up dust are, the more harmful it is to the health. Large dust particles, such as sand and pollen, get caught in the airways, while smaller particles reach all the way to the lungs. The greatest proportion of dust comprises particles less of than 1/1000 mm in size. These micro-particles are highly harmful to us.

The effects of clean indoor air on our health and well-being are many. Cleaning dust originating from outside before allowing the air indoors is of primary importance. Excess dust in buildings as a result of insufficient air filtering can cause the following physiological effects:

  • Irritated respiratory passages
  • Intoxicating effect
  • Suffocating effect
  • Changes in pulmonary tissue
  • Nausea
  • Headaches
  • Allergic reactions

High-quality, appropriate air filtering produces sufficient indoor air quality, which minimises the above health effects and promotes well-being. People feel better and can perform longer and better. Clean indoor air is an investment in people, business, and the national economy.
