Halton delivers to Sydney's premium sustainable office tower


Halton delivers passive beams to 1 Blight Street, Sydney1 Bligh Street in Sydney CBD is to become a flagship premium grade project that is targeting the world's best environmental practices. The 6 Star Green Star and 5 Start NABERS project will focus on tenants from the finance and legal sector.

The building is set to create a new benchmark in Australia for sustainable high-rise and provide an enduring presence attuned to emerging cultural, social and environmental concerns.

The elliptical shape of the building's facade demands innovative HVAC solutions for the management of the facade's loads. Halton’s passive chilled beams were adopted for this purpose, while the centre zone of the building is provided with variable air volume conditioning system. This hybrid approach provides maximum flexibility for tenant fitout while effectively managing thermal gains.

Very high levels of indoor air quality will be achieved, with the ventilation system providing a 250% improvement over Australian standards.
